checker
Today at work I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up my web browser and there on the mandated front page were 2 old Fords. As DOT employees we are recognizing the day because the First Production Model T was produced in Highland park, Michigan on August 12, 1908. I am not an old Ford man but are both these cars model Ts? The one seems too new.Doug </SPAN>

Layden B
NO.. The one on the left is a Model N Ford. It is too old as they were made before the Model T.The one on the right is among the last Ts built and style wise had been somewhat updated. Not enough chassis updates to hold off the competition. Chevrolet had passed Ford up in the market. But 19 years and 15 million cars was and still is a good run!

As I was typing that I realized it was a Model N with the rear deck shaped like a shield.
Layden B
Am sure that keiser31 knows it but the public doesn't, that Ford built a series of cars and already was the worlds largest auto manufacturer producing roughly half of all the cars in the US and then he introduced the "successful" Model T!
