Don B.
I picked up a turbo engine and decided to put new gaskets in.But the pistons don't look right.Take a look at the picture and let me know if this is for a turbo.
NTX5467
You might head over to the KBSilvolite piston website. They have pictures and specs for their pistons on their website, plus some other neat information. There might be some other websites for piston manufacturers of STOCK pistons with pictures, but that's the one I seem to have the best luck with.On the underside of the piston, there might also be some GM casting numbers which might be helpful to know.Just some thoughts,NTX5467

NTX5467
One thing you'll really need to know is the "compression height" of the piston, which will affect ultimate compression ratio, regardless of how the "piston crown" is configured. Two pistons can look the same from the top, but with differing compression heights, yield completely different compression ratios with the same cylinder heads. This also relates to "deck height", or "how far down in the hole the top of the piston is from the head gasket surface".Take care,NTX5467
