Guest SoCalReatta
I am looking for the valve/vacuum modual/part that runs off one of the A/C lines near the ECR. This plastic piece has one line going into it and two smaller lines coming out. I think this controls the A/C air. (see posting under A/C Help). If anyone has the part or could provide me with a part number, it would be appreciated! It's HOT out here. Thanks
Guest RaverReatta
You may be able to find the part at a local pick-a-part for really really cheap, and I wouldn't doubt that that part is in more cars than just the Reatta (that's an assumption though). That might be your cheapest option. However, I see that a lot of people on the forum part out their "extra" Reattas, so you never know if one of them hs a good deal for you. I'd ask more than one person before you make a committment.
padgett
ECM ? EGR ? Under hood or under dash ?
Guest SoCalReatta
Under the hood near the firewall. It runs off one of the 2 main vacuum lines. The larger line branches off into 2 smaller lines that controll the A/C
Guest Mc_Reatta
Think it was visable to the right of the transmission dipstick in the photo that Ronnie posted in the other thread. Believe it's a combination check valve and T fitting with different sized outputs. Not sure this is identical, but it's close:Buy Dorman - Help Two-Way Check Valve - GM 2008-83 47150 at Advance Auto Parts Edited August 8, 2012 by Mc_Reatta (see edit history)
Guest SoCalReatta
Thank you. That part is very close. I just might have to make it work. Man I need my A/C bad!
Ronnie
I've not tried this but... as a temporary fix until you find the correct part, I think it should be possible to connect the main vacuum line to the one going inside to the AC controller so you can operate the AC system. You might need an adapter to get the vacuum lines to match up. Probably would lose the cruise control and maybe something else.
