Guest
I recently picked up a 425 super wildcat engine and ST400 transmission combo. I am planning on swapping it out with my current 401 / st300 configuration. The car is 64 wildcat convertible. My question is two fold. I know the engine mounts are the same but I am not sure about the transmission mounts? Will I have driveshaft length problems or should they match up? Basically I am wondering if anyone else has done this yet and if so what will I need to make the conversion a success.<P>Tks in advance, Kerry
Guest
Kerry, if you are installing into a 1964 Wildcat, you already have a ST400 trans. The only way the car could have a 401 and ST300 is if someone swapped it in out of a 65 or 66 Skylark GS (possible but not likely). I would drop the 425 in, it is physically the same as the 401. Look at your transmission, I will bet that it is a ST400 already. Unless, you have a LeSabre, then all bets are off.
