Guest
I saw a post that I could put aluminum brake drums out of the junk yard on my 70 gs and save a lot of weight. Which cars have aluminum drums that are the same size and have the same bolt pattern? Also, can these be gotten for 12-bolts as I am thinking of upgrading to one? Guest COMPACTBC
My research indicates that most if not all "A" body GM cars from 1964 to '70 (maybe to 1972 also) had 9 1/2" X 2 1/2" drums on the front. I have 5 drums with hubs that I will sell. Their condition ranges from .030 to .050 priced from $35 to $23 each plus shipping. If you could get them (which you can't)the cost new was $135.00 each. Guest
My car has discs up front. I was talking about for the rear. Are they the same as the front drums?
[ 07-06-2001: Message edited by: 70gsconvt ]
Guest grisby
70gsconvt-- the 78-81 G bodies have the aluminum rear drums (not all mind you, you will have to check ) They are a perfect fit-meaning same bolt pattern and drum size. G bodies are the Monte Carlo's, Regal, GP's etc. Hope this helps. I seem to find most of the ones I sell on the 78-79 Monte's.
bill g
