50jetback
Have seen similar setups over here - used as a mobile starting barrier for horse or camel racing.

Guest Kingoftheroad
Looks like a rack they put on pickup trucks but made to fit a Cadillac ??Also, reminds me of the vehicles they use for filming movies.

Bamas:p are those with allegiance to the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa (T-town). My allegiance is to another university in Auburn, Auburn University (Weegle!).As, you're not from around here; I'll give you a pass

38Buick 80C
At first I thought it looked like a shopping cart and thought it is no doubt on its way here so my wife can take delivery and fit all the stuff she gets at Target in in it!!

Glassesguy
Bham: Sorry about that. Saw my mistake after posting. Sid: These cars are like the pace cars used in auto racing. Those sides of the"shopping cart" unfold to a straight line at the rear of the car and are power operated. The jockeys sitting on their carts(sulkeys) line up their trotters or pacers hitched to the carts behind the unfolded sides. The car starts down the track and keeps everyone lined up evenly. On crossing the starting line the car powers away while the sides fold in; then moves off the track as the race has begun. Stuart: Hope that description sounds similar to the way it's done down there.

BillMadden
Hell, Mom had one of those things on top of the old Plymouth. That's how she took chickens to market. Bill
