Guest
Hi, just me again. Do they make a rebuild book for the Buick v8, specifically the 350? I cant imagine they wouldn't, but who knows. One of those "hop-up" books to help guide you in the rebuild process. I checked Amazon.com and didn't find anything. Any leads would be great. Thanks.
Chad
Guest
I'm not sure when, but I rember seeing a 350 Buick buildiup in CarCraft or Popular Hot Rodding or Hod Rod. You can easily access their archives on their websites. Hope this helps.

Guest
Are you talking tech as in blueprinting or as in parts selection?
I built my 350 as follows:
Poston .030 10.25:1 pistons
Poston .480/.495 lift split duration cam
T/A Performance intake
800 CFM mechanical secondary Q-Jet. Yes, they exist. I use BB rods and a K or L hanger on the secondaries.
Hooker SuperComp headers
Competition Cams rockers and shafts
Melling Hi-Vol oil pump
Accell Supercoil on a 75 HEI
MSD 6AL with 5200 RPM rev-limiter
Holley Blue pump regulated to 5-1/2 PSI

That's about it. Nothing special was done to the block to prep it. It's got the original block and heads. It'll run 13's all day and 12's on AV-GAS.
Thing is, I don't even know if half of these parts are available anymore. I still have the car the engine is in, and it still thump-thump-thumps like a big block.
Good luck,
-pb
Guest
I believe you are looking for an (instructional) book that is much like the "How to Build your Small/Big Block Chevy/Ford" books. You won't find one for Buick. The previous posts mention the magazine article(s); The article will certainly help, but I don't think it will have all the detail you will need/want to tackle a complete tear-down and re-build. I made an inquirey on this site some time ago regarding "small block" Buick(s). In my opinion, the uncontested "Champion" for small cube Buicks is a fellow named "JIMMIEB". He has answered many questions We have had on this site regarding:215/225/300/340 & 350 Buicks. Go into the "search" tab and enter 340 or 350 and see what comes up. Whatever you do, don't ask about Chevy 350! Good luck!
