Tires and stuff

Brands & WW vs BW tires varied throughout the years and models. I expect a 66S would have WW tires. There are several tire companies that make tires for this car. I suggest you check the BCA judging handbook and to see what is comercially available that will fit your car.

The BCA manual will give you correct info. As a point of interest, if you go to ebay and look at 1934 Buick all categories, you will notice that all but one factory photo shows blackwall tires. Even all the advertising pages show blackwalls. Most of the models offered also have blackwalls. In general, today's owners prefer to make their cars look very flashy with all the accessories and add ons they can find. In reality very few cars of this period ever had anything but blackwall tires. Blackwalls are sure a lot easier to maintain on a driver.

If your not looking for a certain brand try Lucas tires. I had a set on order from Coker for over 7 months only to be told they would not be ready until this time, which would have made it over a year. Lucas had me a set in 3 days, 6 ply with a 4" wide white. they look great on my 32 66s and the ride is so much better.

I "googled" 1934 Buick Brochure and then clicked on the image link. I came up with a number of pictures of some original brochures and most show blackwall tires on them.

Here's the link so you can look at them as well.

In this link there's a picture of a 1935 model 66S coupe from a brochure. It's show with blackwalls.
