Shop Rat
It isn't just you. In the last 24 hours we have gotten at least four e-mails like that. Two from people we know and two that came from someone they know.
Durant Mike
A couple of weeks ago, I logged onto my Facebook Account and was informed that a previous login had been done from Brazil. I changed my password and have not gotten that message again. Now I am getting emails to my personal email account selling just about everything and most are addressed to multiple people with my email address embedded. I even received an email from myself to myself, now that is strange. Hopefully the hacker who got all the email addresses will soon move on, and my mail will get back to normal. Once they know an ID and a password for you they will try it on other sites, especially banking sites!Email is easily forged. If you'd like, I could send you and email from "you". Trivially easy for anyone that is so inclined. There are some technical things your email provider can do to limit that but a lot of them don't. Since you've received one purportedly from yourself, your email provider is apparently one that doesn't care enough to fix things.
