Guest 62buick
Hello folks,Quick question. On one side of my car the headlights only work for a high beam, not for a low beam. Are there two bulbs inside the headlamp one for high and one for low? Do I need to replace that entire thing or just a bulb? Thanks in advance. NTX5467
4 headlight system . . . 1-high beam, 1-low beam on each side2 headlight system . . . 1-headlight assy on each side, housing a dual-element illuminator . . . 1 element for high beam, 1 element for low beam. Each light is about 7" in diameter whereas the 4-light system headlights are about 5.75" in diameter.Providing there are NO wiring issues, replacing the un-lit bulb would be the first thing to do.For good measure, check the lamp wiring harness as there's usually ONE ground wire (black) on EACH SIDE, whether single or dual lamps on each side. Enjoy!NTX5467

That's why the low beam bulb has three terminals and the high beam bulb only has two. You need to replace the entire sealed beam, the filaments are not individually replaceable. Guest Commodore
Any auto parts store should have them. For example NAPA has them as part number 4000 for the standard Low Beam bulb and H5006 for the Halogen.

That's great news that Napa will have them. Thanks!
