Bob56
Is there a specific year flathead that is more desirable than another? Looking at a 1935 car with flathead but would a 1936 be a better choice? How about parts availability?
DavidAU
Bob56To a flathead fan they are all desirable but some are more desirable than others. I love them all but must admit a 37 four door doesn't light my fire too much. The most desirable and expensive are the 1932 models and the 3 window coupe and deluxe roadster are the top of the tree. The 39 & 40 coupes, convertables and later model woodies are also right up there. There is not much between the 35 & 36 models although the later 36's have insert bearings instead of white metal bearings. It mainly comes down to what you like.Just about all parts are avalible in either second hand, NOS or reproduction and there are many dealers who handle these parts online. DavidAU
I love my 1937 Ford Fordor. The 1937 is the best looking pre-war Ford. PPHa Ha. There you go PP. I am sure there are many others who feel the same. There are probably others who dont like the 1940 models which I love. The world would be a sad place if everyone liked the same things. That is probably the Early Ford V8's great advantage as a collector car, plenty of different body styles and shapes to choose from but they all have got that same beating Heart of Gold. CarlLaFong
To me, the 36 roadster is, hands down, the best looking prewar Ford
