I bought a four door Pontiac sedan a few moths ago that i am looking to restor, and was wondering if anyone could help me out on the year. The serial # is 802899-28, the job # is 8220, and the body # is 22126. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Job # 8220 is a 1928 Pontiac Standard Sedan.

Good question Joey as a positive ID is necessary on cars of the 1920s and not always as obvious as it would seem. Just FYI there were over 224,000 1928 Pontiacs made, as well as over 200,000 in 1927 and 1929 too, so they were not so rare in their day.

Read and look up all the material you can, and there are two clubs you could join that would have members to offer advice. Traditionally the Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI) was the largest, but lately it's focus has shifted away from prewar cars. A bunch of prewar POCI members came over to the AACA (who runs this forum) and formed an Oakland-Pontiac chapter here, with a focus on earlier Pontiacs from 1926-1958. Good luck to you,
