Guest 89Reatta
Well crud...been knowing for a while now that hood shocks needed to be replaced but putting it off. I would use a broom handle to hold up hood..well, I met a little resistance when opening hood (the drivers size seized) and before I knew it the drivers hood hinge lift arm is deformed and the hood is dimpled at the hinge joint:mad: and a little bent up at the corner from opening. Lessened learned. Will take to body shop but doubt there is much they can do with the hood. Anyone been down this road? Please heed my warning and replace failing hood shocks right away! Ronnie
Instructions for installing the hood struts are on ReattaOwner.com. If they are installed incorrectly damage to the hood will result.New struts are available in The Reatta Store. Look in the Body & Interior category. NCReatta
I've got a good hood, but shipping would be a pain $$ wise.
Guest 89Reatta
Marck, thank you. I inspected the hood in the sunlight today and I think I *may* be able to save it, or at least make due with it for awhile. But, I definitely need to replace the drivers side hood hinge asap. Do you have one from the red you are parting? Please shoot me a pm or respond if available. Thanks for your help, Cody
