Guest
I've got a 64' Skylark that the person before me put lowering front springs in which is fine for now as I am running the stock 300 engine. However, I recently did a front disc brake swap which lowered it even further and I intend on dropping in a 455 in the coming months. The question is, can someone recomend replacement front springs that will support the additional weight of the 455? I can get replacement stock springs easily but am not sure if they are heavy enough for the new engine. Thanks for any info.
Jeromy
------------------
Jeromy Craig
64 Skylark
Guest
JC,
That should not be too hard to find. The 455 Buick is just about the same weight as a small block Chevy. So all you should have to look for are SB Chevy springs for a 64-67 Chevelle and you should be in business.
The other choice you have is to get springs for a 67 GS400 which will be comparable to what you need. Though the listing for that may be a bit harder to find than the Chevy.
Good Luck,
Mark
Guest
Thanks Mark,
I believe I can find a listing for 67 GS400 springs, but if not, the chevelle springs should be no problem as you said. Thanks again.
JC
