Guest
how about body mounts? could have a bad one or rotten one? maybe?
Guest John Chapman
Justin,
If you have the maintenance manual, there should be reference numbers in the chassis section for ride height. This is measured from the suspension components, not from the body. If the suspension component measurements are correct, you'll know if it's something like bad/missing body mounts, etc. Likewise, if the numbers aren't correct you'll know the chassis is gooned up.
John
JUSTIN
new springs, shocks, most of front end pieces. but the front driver side sits 1"lower than the pass. but if you bounce on it . then it sometimes rest even or only 1/2" below the pass side. the pass side always returns to the same place. got any ideas? JUSTIN
my real problem is the variable height thing. if it was just an issue of leaning then i could shim it or something. but the variable part throws me.
Guest John Chapman
Justin,
I understand the variable height issue. You first need to determine if it's a chassis fault or a body-to-frame problem.
I'd check in the following order:
Chassis height from the manual, if not correct:
Binding shock
Binding suspension components (did you over tighten something?)
Body/suspension interference
JMC
