Buick 231 V6

I just acquired a 231 to use in my 1953 M38A1 Jeep. I am trying to determine the year and model vehicle this engine came from. Here are some of the numbers: Block - 25506818, Heads - 25506293, Intake - 25506510, Serial number - 402. Carb is a Rochester Dual Jet.

I had one of these engines in a 75 Olds Starfire. One thing about 231s of this vintage - they're uneven firing engines. They idle and rev a bit funny, because they're essentially a Buick V8 with two cylinders chopped off. The crank only has 3 throws. In later versions, GM "stepped" the crank throws to make them an even firing engine and smooth them out.
