Guest BigDogDaddy
My brother and I were taking my '40 Buick to a local cruise. I had to work overtime, so my brother agreed to take the car to his house and wash it then come pick me up.He washed the car in his driveway. A neighbor came over to see the car. My brother didn't really know the neighbor. The guy is always pleasant, waves hello, but they have never talked in the five years my brother has lived there. The guy doesn't talk with any of the other neighbors either. But he couldn't resist the Buick. He came over and asked my brother if he just bought the car. My brother explained why he had the car. They chatted a while and his new friend was in love with the '40. It is amazing, the power of an old car, they draw people to them. They make the world a better place. jackofalltrades70
I agree. While some remember some time, long ago..............others are amazed at how beautiful and shiny the cars are. Matt
Mark Shaw
I fully agree... I can't tell you how many neighbors I have met this way.... In fact just yesterday I was washing my 13 buick in preparation for a tour later today when a neighbor walking his dog stopped by to comment on my lawn art... Some just walk by & others are drawn to old cars like they are magnetic...
smithbrother
Mark, with your FLEET of Buick's YOU could have your own AUTO SHOW right in your drive. Soon the street would be filled with cars driving by to see, causing a GAPPER'S BLOCK. Good for you!Dale Smith in Indy
avgwarhawk
Its very true that these cars attract and spurn conversation among the young and old. To the older crowd these vehicles bring back memories for some. Others are seeing something in these old cars that is missing in today's vehicles. Something about these cars that harken to a simpler time and for that few minutes folks get transported there as they talk and admire the car. Yesterday my neighbor I have not spoken too in 11 years said my car is beautiful. I found out she is 86 and this Buick of mine does bring back memories for her.
