Guest KentWood
Perhaps someone has sketch they made of it and could post a picture of the sketch : don't need the electrical diagram, just the mechanical configuration.
Guest gxman
There are two prongs on the hardtop and soft top. You will note there are notches in the prongs. When you press the button a hook like mechanism curls around the notches and holds it in place. When you hit the release the opposite occurs and uncurls. In my case the release doesn't work, so I have to manually close & release, utilizing the manual nut in the upper rear trunk. I hope this helps. Guest KentWood
When I tried the URL http://chrysler-partscenter.com/schematics it gave a message :"Directory Listing DeniedThis Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."When I tried the URL http://chrysler-partscenter.com it worked and leads to many diagrams. Guest KentWood
What I really am looking for is a diagram of the rear latch mechanism for the hard top, ie the Top Pull Down Mechanism. Understanding this in detail will allow analysis of problems such as Hard Top Will Not Release when TOP switch is depressed, necessity for holding TOP switch until the cycle is complete, and manual release with Hex Nut in trunk mechanism problems.I think we can all agree that if you cannot get your Hard Top off your TC is NOT a convertible. Guest My TC Toy
If the mechanism isn't fully pulling the top down it could well be a broken gear body. These were only made of plastic and break fairly easily. The besy way to check it out is yo remove the full mechanosm from the car, I think four nuts, and examine. If it is broken, it is readily available.Good luck.Bob
Guest KentWood
There is a resequence procedure for the TOP switch in the 1990 Owners Manual. Prior to running this procedure my top would NOT pull the top down. But after running the resequence procedure the pull down worked perfectly. I wonder if this may be related to some of the problems members are having with the top pull down process.
