MarrsCars
I put up a thread for info on Avions Voisin (http://forums.aaca.org/f182/no-voisin-posts-owners-327307.html#post1028549) and got me thinking of the other marques that I similarly enjoy. Anyone else here a fan, or owner, of any of the cars listed in the title? I have never even seen any of these cars in the flesh tho I know each has made an appearance at Pebble Beach over the years. Steve_Mack_CT
Marrs, check out the CCCA section of the forum, there is a thread out there dedicated to the Avions Voisin for your viewing pleasure. You will find some threads on Horch as well, with at least one poster working on one who has posted some pictures. (we will make you a CCCA member yet... )
MarrsCars
Haha, thanks friend, as you can see you've got me hooked! Your early post in the MB forums was like the siren call of an ice cream truck to a child. I have to admit I'm still not sure where my car fits in, growing up in Indiana a "Classic" was what we saw at the James Dean Festival, 50's cars primarily, but the terminology and specifics of the clubs has me confounded. I've been reading through the threads and will figure out my place eventually.EDIT: So as a non-member forum visitor I was confused, but after reading both sites I realized that I most qualify for AACA membership due to the age of my car. Again, terminology used in my youth meant that "Antiques" were older than "Classics" but it's good to know there's a place for me now! West Peterson
MarrsIf you PM your address to me, I'd be happy to send you a sample copy of the AACA magazine, or, go to here and see it online:Antique Auto Magazine March/April 2012It might take a minute to load, but it's a really neat way to see a magazine online. MarrsCars
Thanks for your kind offer, I will read the online version out of sheer impatience, but will also send you my details as it's hard to beat holding a tangible magazine in your hands out on the deck sometimes. Also, when I'm finished I will forward that copy to my father who also is a car nut, owns a '36 GMC truck, some Mopar, and my previous Mercedes among others and might enjoy membership as well! I'm still in my 30's but the car bug bit me hard as a kid and never let go.
