Model L Engine Question

Well I have finally started on the L engine project. Spent most of the weekend stripping the engine of accessories and getting ready to pull it. But I have hit a roadblock or two....

How do the manifolds come off the car? It appears I remove the exhaust pipe and front 'heat riser' plate from the exhaust manifold. A series of nuts and studs mount the exhaust manifold to the block but this is also bolted to the intake. I see two outer bolts for this but are there two inner ones I do not see also? Then I think I could get to all the intake studs.....

With the exhaust manifold on I cannot get to some of the intake studs and nuts. Correct or am I going about this wrong?

Also, how do I get the lower inside nut off to remove the exhaust pipe? I already twisted off one stud and can't hardly get to this one.
