Bushwack
took a small bite from the bottom of the door panel. Anyone have any suggestions how to make as inconspicuous repair as possible? I wouldn't want to replace the door panel and the small piece that's missing is....missing. The ultimate goal is to make a repair that's presentable (better then expected w/o replacing the panel).Thanks....
NCReatta
Around here, there's a mobile leather repair guy. I haven't used him personally yet, but I've seen his work. You might check around out there and see what you can find. If you have a similar guy out there, he can probably fix it for you.
Guest Kingsley
Ervin - let Dennis Markel take a look - good place to start. Not as bad as I thought it might be.Kingsley'89 Coupe, '90 CoupeMember AACA, BAC, Reatta Divisionwww.reattaspecialtyparts.comWe are a fair market company - we sell to end users and discount heavily to selected vendors to maintain our established pricing levels. We are your source for two models of Headlight Crank Arm Repair Kits and Sun Visor Clips for the convertibles. Guest Richard D
A friend bought a vinyl repair kit from Advance for about $16.00. It had a bunch of different color fillers and texture papers. The hard part was mixing the fillers to match the proper color. Of course a real interior shop is probably the best way to go.
Vincent Vega
I too bought a permatex brand kit. The concept is solid. Color match is impossible.Go to a pro.
DAVES89
I used a franchise called "Dr. Vinyl" Some are better then others. The guy I got was very good.
Guest BobbyBubba
OK- Remove door panel. Inside- you will find many INCHES of extra material. Get a tube of Testors model filler putty. Fill up hole- to just under level of hole. Let dry. Vinyl glue the (carefully cut) piece into place. Use the grain paper to hide the glue-ooze line. Let dry THOUROUGHLY before removing grain paper (as per kit directions).
