Guest tommygfunk
I finally got back to the mercury after taking time to get the nursery nearly done. Jojo is due in a few days. so I took out the rear deck and the medical boxes and the tail gate is getting blasted so I’m hoping to wire brush out the spair tire well and the floor to get the crud off. I worked with a few coatings over time, but I thought I’d ask for your opinions. Now this will all be hidden by the deck and the rubber mat {no carpet in the Amblewagon.} in the drivers area so I’m not too worried if it is brushed on. I just want to stop anymore rusting. Your thoughts on coatings verses bed liner and so on. If mason does not pick this weekend to come into the world I hope to start on it Saturday! Now with the baby on his way I need to be budget minded. My dad [RIP] use to get my this syrup like paint from the mill that I coated frames, floors, and suspension parts with and the 67 C10 frame and part of the cab is all that is left and that has been many moons ago I had that truck on the road. Guest Mochet
POR15 works real well. Most of the restoration places sell it (Eastwood, etc.). Goes on very nicely, and won't need a top coat in the trunk.Phil
poci1957
Years ago Skinned Knuckles magazine did a corrosion test on a bunch of rust treatments and POR 15 worked best. I have used it and like it, just wear gloves so it does not get on your skin since it will not come off. Really. Todd C
