Can anyone Identify this Hood ?

Recommended Posts

Hello

Not sure if this hood is proper for vehicle currently on.

It's a large hood, 35" L x 20 1/2" H x 22 3/4 W (Top Half)

It has 6 sets of Horizontal Louvers:

5 sets of 5

1 set of 4

Total of 29 stamped Louvers

Would anyone be able to state the origin / manufacturer of this Hood ?

Thanks

Erik

Gentlemen

Thank you for the replies.

I have Not verified the Vin Or Motor #'s, as this vehicle came without a title.

This hood is on a 1928 Dodge Depot Hack.

The radiator shell has a DB Senior emblem on it. (see photo)

I thought this hood was suspect, due to the Horizontal Louvers, as well as the Senior emblem.

On all found photos of a 28, I have Not come across this hood design.

Typically, the louvers are Vertical.

Would anyone be able to furnish a photo of vehicle with this hood in place ?

There is a factory hole on each side of grill (in line with top louver).

As the headlight bar spans across the fenders, any Idea as to the purpose of these two openings?

Thanks

Erik

Looks like the hood from a 1927 Dodge Senior 6. I'll keep checking on the purpose of the holes. Maybe the wires to the headlights went through some conduit fro those holes.

Just found this photo of a 1928 Senior Six. I blew it up and you can see the conduit for the headlight wires going to the center of the radiator shroud.

Yes, that certainly looks correct.

The lamp wiring does indeed appear to go thru the openings on shroud, as just found on other photos.

Am attaching a photo of a cast metal stanchions, located on chassis rails, feeding a spiral / metal wrapped cable, up towards headlamps.

Have you ever seen these stanchions used for headlamps ?

Perhaps they were for a foglamp?

I will trace the existing wiring for further clues.

Yes, it is the same vehicle.

How did you come to see it there?
