I am a mechanic restoring a 47 buick woodie for a friend. we need some parts, esp the rear seat. I've just started on the project, and am sure other parts are needed. If anyone wants to see it, i'll be happy to upload or em pics. Oh, also need the rear driverside window. any help locating people who have parts would be appreciated. thanks,JZ

We are restoring a '48 and are reproducing 100% of the wood in hopes of selling a set or two. The bodies were ash with mahogany plywood inserts. Inner door panels were birch. The slats in the roof are straight grain red cedar. We are also reproducing the seat frames in stainless steel (originally chromed tubing and would be extremely expensive to replate being as they are so large and cumbersome) as well as assorted bracketry, tailgate latches, etc. We have made quite a study of these beasts. They all started out as sedan cowls and floor pans. We have even reproduced the woodie specific rear door hinges. As you know there is an enormous amount of complicated wood in these cars. The wood as well as most other woodie specific parts are the same '46-'48. We would love to see pics. Happy to help if we can.

you will have to copy tthe url, then paste it in the address part and zoom, off ya goes.

if still no luck, i went to "Community", then albums, then click on the burgundy hood laying uponst the floot. voila! you shoud see some pics of the unit i'm working on.

maybe not. the url turns blue, and i was able to go directly to the pictures. this site is definately great, and professional.

as i await a workshop manual, i find the original coil just ain't puttin out much spark. I checked all connections, which are OK, firing on all 8 according to the distributor, but the spark out of the coil isn't enough to give me a buzz, but there is spark before distributor. what is the procedure to replace the orig coil with the wire coming out the side? Is it possible the condenser is the culprit?
