I signed up and paid my first year's dues, but I haven't heard anything back to say that I'm in. Who's the fellow to ask about whether everything's square?

Many thanks,

Thanks very much, Brian.

I think I goofed up when I entered the info about my car, so I figured that my membership app probably went to the round file.

(You guys seem to have this secret numerical code about how to describe different models of Buick cars (numbers and letters) that I haven't figured out, and I wasn't able to find the secret decoder ring to tell me what to fill in, so I just wrote it in (1971 Buick Electra 225 Custom Coupe). I hope I didn't screw anything up.)

Basically, I just want my member number, and to know that I'm all paid up and all's fair and square. I know that most car clubs are volunteer organizations, and that the wheels turn a bit slower. (The Honda S2000 clubs are the same way, btw.) I want to know where the Colorado-local members are, and to meet those guys as I'm getting my bucket into shape. If there's some online place to find out this stuff, please give me a pointer.

Anyhow, thanks again for chiming in. Looking forward to all that's to come.

Randy,

As you found ansd use the forum, I trust you are aware that it is part of the BCA website. If you look at main page, the right hand corner list all the local chapters. There are three in Colorado, depending on your location.

Regarding the numbers, I doubt that would be a factor in processing you application. The model numbers are GM provided numbers and not a secret code. You may have the model number on a fire wall tag, depending on your year of manufacture.

Unfortunately we have not reached the instantaneous email generation welcome response level yet. :( I wish we did have this for online sign ups as it is pretty much expected in this day and age, but we are getting there slowly. Thanks for understanding.

Give the office a call on Monday and they can confirm all is good and give you your membership number. They can help you with the "Secret code"... maybe..too. In theory if there are some left you should receive a 2011 BCA Roster which will have the CO members listed. If not one will come out again probably in 2013, but in the meantime you can contact the CO BCA Chapters. Find them here BCA - Regions. I know the Rocky Mountain Chapter is pretty active as I get their newsletter.

Thanks again.

Many thanks. I didn't go through the BCA site to get here, to start with, but you've given me the right pointers. I'm all set. Now I just have to sort out the right chapter: Mile High or Rocky Mountain!

I warned at the outset that I'd have some dopey questions. Thanks again, folks, for kindly pointing me in the right direction. It's simple stuff, but it helps a lot.

Hi Randy......We generally download and process credit card orders once a week (usually on the weekend). Your BCA membership number is 46454. You will be receiving your membership card, windshield decal and Welcome letter some time next week, and you will receive the April issue of the Buick Bugle magazine around the 10th - 15th of April.

Welcome to the Buick Club of America!

Randy,

some 'secret' numbers can be found here: Buick Models for 1971

Since you wrote your 71 Electra is a 'Custom', the model# should be 48437 (Custom Two-Door HT). Your VIN or 'trim tag' (model, style, trim combination and serial number information plate) will tell you
