Scenes From A Georgia Junkyard

Recommended Posts

I've been taking trips to a junkyard here in Georgia that recently re-opened to the public. I believe they said the place is 60 acres and it's all on a mountain top. No one has been allowed in since some time in the 70's. This place has been in the same family since the 30's. The son of the former owner has inherited the property and is in the process of crushing EVERYTHING as quick as he can. He has been kind enough, however, to let anybody that wants to roam around to their hearts content and buy almost anything. He is also selling whole cars for straight scrap prices. Some of you may have seen several of the threads started about this place on the Buick forums. If not, I will post links to them at the bottom of this post. They contain more pictures and several videos I, and others, have taken. I just wanted to share some of the pictures I've taken while walking around the place. Enjoy!

Sorry guys. I have no reason to keep it a secret. I wish more people would help save some of this stuff! The owner said last time I was there that he didn't mind the information being given out but I don't know how he would feel about it being posted on the internet. PM me if you would like the location. They are open Monday-Saturday 8-4 I believe. There is no direct phone number and I don't know if the owner would be ok with me posting his cell number here. Once again, PM me if you need to talk to him and I will give you his number. Just so you know, if you do call him, he probably wont be able to tell you if something specific is there. He doesn't have a clear inventory and he stays busy all day sending stuff to the crusher. You just walk around and discover stuff on your own, then you show it to him and he names his price. Happy hunting guys!!

Oh, and I dont remember seeing any Packard stuff and the only reason you may have thought it was Buick oriented is that I'm a little Buick biased and I(and other Buick Club members)took all the photos/videos. I assure you that there are plenty of other makes and models within.
