Guest Lee Kvanli Posted March 19, 2012 Share Posted March 19, 2012 When up-grading from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system on a 54 chevy, what type of 12 volt battery do you reccomend? Do you just pick out any 12 volt battery that will fit in the tray? Ron of Chicago Posted March 20, 2012 Share Posted March 20, 2012 Buy what you can afford. I have found that they are all pretty much the same and as long as you maintain them, they will last. Get the biggest bang for your buck. I've always had good luck with Interstate. Depending on if you are loading the electrical system with a lot of radio equipment or if you are installing a V-8 in the car, you can get by with a medium cold cranking battery.
