trimacar
This is my 2000th post on the AACA forum. There are others with many more posts, of course, but I must reflect on what fun and enjoyment that this forum has provided me, and does provide me, a way to connect to so many fellow antique car enthusiasts. To those I've offended, I apologize. An antique car is, an, antique, car.To those who didn't believe what I've posted, I'm lost. Think air pressure in tires. To those who've asked questions, and my answers may have helped, sharing knowledge is a great part of this forum, and glad to help.To those who haven't agreed with my comments on car values, well, buyers and sellers will always ultimately answer such questions with actual dollars exchanged. To those who've been entertained by my warped sense of humor, ah, those people I treasure, for life is but a stage upon which we are all poor players, and a laugh or chuckle eases our stage fright (with apologies to the Bard). To those I only know through these forums, thanks for entertaining me.To those I know personally, well, shucks, you guys are great. Quit smiling, Marty....What fun, best to all, and many more years for all of us this side of the Pearly Gates...... 1937hd45
Congratulations on your 2,000 post, I really wonder how many years it has been that we've known each other. I ran across an old letter not too long ago from you with that great Stoddard-Dayton logo. Seeing that chassis at Hershey a few years ago was really nice, watching the vedeo, was almost as good as a ride I bet. Keep posting. Bob
Shop Rat
..... What fun, best to all, and many more years for all of us this side of the Pearly Gates......Congrats on the 2,000 post milestone.Your last line reminded me of a joke you might like, since you do have a warped sense of humor. Two guys that have been friends pretty much forever, and also enjoy working on old vehicles, one day get into a discussion about whether or not there will be old vehicles in heaven. Of course they hope there will be.They agree that when the first one passes from this life they will come back and tell the other if there are indeed old vehicles in heaven.About six months later Harry dies. That night he comes back to talk to his best friend Doy. Doy askes his friend, "Harry, are there old vehicles in heaven for us to work on?"To which Harry replies, "Doy, the good news is there are old vehicles in heaven. And car shows too. The bad news is you're the next Chief Judge."

edinmass
Dave is a great guy. I have been bumping into him for years at the Pierce meet. He does most of his own work, and DRIVES his cars to the meet. He always has a smile and a story to share. I was a guest at his home not too long ago, spending an afternoon and evening kicking tires and looking through his collection. My favorite part was the free test drive he offers to ALL his friends and visitors! He insisted I drive his cars like I stole it! What a great guy! poci1957
David, congrats and thank you for all you posts. I just surpassed 1500 and greatly appreciate the daily meetings with my forum friends. You are especially helpful to so many with the upholstery questions that relatively few can answer. Thanks a lot, keep warning people from using foam on prewar cars and I will look forward to your next 2000 posts, Todd C

Shop Rat
Susan, it has been a real pleasure getting to know you, and reading your many posts over the last couple of years. ..... First I want to say that I am sorry it took me so long to see this. We were in Bristol, TN for the NASCAR races there. Second, thank you and I have enjoyed reading your posts as well. Third, the joke is an old one, told to me by one of the characters in it, Doy Maston. Harry Miller was his best friend and sadly passed away from cancer about two years prior to Doy passing away from a massive heart attack. They were like Frick and Frack. Hit it off the first time they met. Both loved Fords and bled Ford oval blue.
trimacar
Thanks to all. I'm addicted to this forum. Enjoyed Ed's visit a lot, we do keep bumping into each other at the great Pierce meets.Steve, thanks so much for the help on the wrench, it looks great next to my massive vise (which is "vice" in England, but I already have one of those, it's antique cars). Y'all were great to help me, on the one Hershey I've missed in the last 25 or so years.....
