Guest TexasScott
Took a ride this afternoon with the top down. Just returned home and when I tried to put the top up, neither the Tonneau Release Switch nor the switch in the glovebox to open the trunk work. Even using the key to open the trunk fails - no mechanical action is felt. I checked the fused and the square boxes that plug in to the right of the fuses - and they seemed okay. I desperately need to get into the trunk, as my work briefcase is stowed in there. Thanks for any suggestions that you may have.
Guest Mc_Reatta
Sounds like the tonneau : trunk lid interlock is acting up. Make sure tonneau is fully latched shut and retry trunk lid. Otherwise if fuses are OK then there is a switch or relay problem most likely in the trunk.
wws944
Note that if you need to get the tonneau cover open quickly, there are two handles - one at the top of each of the cubbies - that can be pulled to manually release the cover. Then you can flip the top out of the way, and reach into the trunk. (Documented on page 131 of the owners manual.)
padgett
Just a note: just about every automatic feature has a manual bypass, engineers are not stupid.
