I have a 46 chevy and I don't know much about cars except that I love them especially old origingal . My car has a " unity light "switch separate from the light control switch. What is it supposed to do? Don

Thanks, you could be right. I don't see any mention of a "unity lights" switch on the on-line owner's manual. The car has no fog lights or back up lights now.

Unity is an aftermarket company, been around for decade's. spotlight's, foglight's, etc. Your switch should have a light inside the knob, it's old plastic, the knob pull's off and align's with a knotch. Is it still active (powered), follow the wire.

I've got a 48 Fleetmaster that's stock. From what I've seen the optional back up light was operated by a limit switch that was mounted at the bottom of the steering column and operated by the movement of the gear shift operating levers. I ran across a parts car that had the back up light but everything was too shot to reuse.
