George Albright
Hi everyone: I just bought this original paint & interior, one owner,71,000 mile, always stored inside 1951 Reo Model E 21 truck. It has the 292 CI Continental OHV 6 cylinder Gold Comet engine and 2 speed rear. It has been in storage for 30 years, and needs a carb kit,4 wheel cylinder kits, master cylinder kit, etc. Does anyone know where I might get new kits of this stuff? I am sure these same kits fit several makes of trucks from the 1950s. I do not have an interchange book,so I can't figure it out.Leads appreciated! I am planning on putting on some type of cool, period,or period looking flat bed,to make it a hauler for my four 1930s sprint cars. Accept leads on a bed also. Dandy Dave
George, If these guys can't fix you up with brake parts, nobody can. Nice old truck, I have not seen a Gold Comet in quite a while. Dandy Dave! Guest Bob Call
GeorgeI looked up you Reo E21 in my Hollander Interchange. The master cylinder is interchangable with lots of 1950's Reo and Internaional trucks. Reo wheel cylinders are not listed in the Hollander but you should be able to find the right size cups. I you want the list of master cylinder interchanges let me know and I'll scan and email it to you.
