1926 Hood ornament

I have a 1926 Master Brougham that has a Motometer on it. What was the original hood ornament, if I want to replace it? Lee Davis

Whoops! I assumed that everyone would realize that it is a Buick. Sorry. Actually, it is a Buick that was owned by Charles Howard (the owner of Seabuiscuit). He bought it new, then sold it within a year, as one would expect of a Buick dealer who could have any car he would want. It was fitted with a pair of Gruss Air shocks, and did not have a cigar lighter (Howard must have been very adverse to cigars!). Lee Davis

Well - that did not work as planned - - from where the link takes you go to the left and click "factory Mascots" then click the flag for "US" then pull down for "Buick" then pull-down to see the 1927 link.

I remember when nearly every prewar Mercedes that came up for sale was once "owned by Hitler". I wonder how many old Buicks are now former Charles Howard cars? I'm not challenging the provenance of the car in question, just thinkin' out loud (in print actually)
