1936 Dodge Body Parts

I have located some steel replacement panels for Dodge and Plymouth cars from a couple of sources. They are supposedly hand made and will fit but carry a heavy price tag. I'm looking for a tailpan and front outside rocker panels for a fordor touring sdn. I've made the rear outer rockers but have no way to reproduce the compound curves needed for the tailpan and rockers. Does anyone have any info or experience with these"repro parts"? I hate to buy anything I can't see first ,especially parts that are not returnable. In my experience many "quality repros"do not fit well. We have no one in our area capable of forming these types of parts and these repairs are holding me back.Even the local auto body trade schools won't touch them. I could probably piece the rockers together but would rather have them in one long section. Any thoughts?

I assume you've contacted "the Plymouth Doctor" regarding repair panels...

By the way, "fordor" was a Ford specific term. Chrysler corporation called them "four door sedans", or in your case a "four door touring sedan".

I bought tail pan panels (outer and inner) for our '36 Dodge Coupe a couple of years ago from Plymouth Doctor Restoration Parts LLC operated by Wayne Brandon. Have not got far enough into the restoration yet to have them installed by a competent body man. However even though they were pricey, getting them hand formed in a custom shop would have cost way more. And I wanted to be sure I had them on hand when I needed them. Outwardly they look to be well made and based on communication with the owner, he's a straight shooter who will do his best to ensure everything is as described. He has made it a business to reproduce some relatively hard-to-find panels for early Chrysler products. Give him a call and see what you think. He has a catalogue he could send you. His published phone # is 517-625-7596

I bought the quarter panel patch set on E-Bay for my 1936 Dodge CP and they fit like a glove. Everything about them lined up and matched the original perfectly. They are on E-Bay right now, item number 190647634336 if anyone is interested. I do not know the seller nor do I have any connection with him at all but I am very happy with his patch panels.
