1937-44
Hi, I have a couple of boxes of nos or nors hubcaps from the mid 20's to early 30's most of which are for wood wheels. It has come time to reduce inventory if possible. I have some listed on Ebay, but I have 4 types I can't identify. Can anyone assist me in identifying them? Thanks you for any assistance you might have.
keiser31
Far right looks to be a Hudson cap.
1937-44
Hi Keiser, Thanks, for your input. That's what I was thinking, or possibly Essex. The 3rd from left looks like a Pontiac except for not having the Indian head. Appreciate the help. Carl
keiser31
#2 looks to be an aftermarket Studebaker cap. #3 looks like an aftermarket Pontiac cap.

Guest prs519
I concur with what has been offered. I do wonder if the second one might have been a cap for an aftermarket wheel along the lines of a Goodyear Air Wheel. Perry
Guest kaycee
I bought a thread gauge on eBay when looking for a hub puller. If you're selling these caps, the buyer will want the diameter of the threaded end of the cap and threads per inch on the threads on that end, along with the other measurements on the cap if they're not sure of the cap from your description and pictures. kaycee
1937-44
Thanks for the observations Perry and Kaycee. The hubcaps I have listed on Ebay I have tried putting measurements down for and I already use a pith (spelling) gauge on. Thanks for the suggestion though. Just didn't think the measurements would really help in identifying them. Carl

1937-44
I'm really not sure, I've had mine for years. Seriously as I recall I was told it was called a pith gauge, but don't know for sure the actual name. But it works.

1937-44
Hi Keiser, You are correct. I just did a little searching of my own and came up with that conclusion as well. Heard the term about 45 years ago and guess my memory got a little foggy. Thanks for the clarification. Carl
