Guest BJM
I always hope these cars get purchased by a BCA member or future BCA member.Once again, an inexpensive entry into the hobby.
Guest Andynator
We had a Chevy Monza and it was a neat car...way better than the Vega. It was a notchback though, the hatchback has better lines.
smithbrother
I just typed in to Google, "PICTURES OF 1977 BUICK SKYHAWK":, and up popped a picture from Hot Rod mag, they asked for comments/reviews, and they couldn't get anyone to respond. I think that is funny, and must say SOMETHING, LOLIn 77 I was busy with my new hardware store, so many cars didn't get my attention, looks like it could be made to go fast. wmsue
I bought a 79 Skyhawk 'new' in the fall of 78. Paid 5K for it. The engine blew in my old buick and couldn't find a replacement fast so I bought my first new car. It had the 3.8 litre V-6 with a 5 speed, tilt, A/C PS,PB and a real spare tire. Got great gas mileage. I installed a water vaporizer in the engine compartment and a vacuum gauge under the dash. I was engaged to my wife at the time and she said she'd pay the extra to get an automatic in it. I paid extra and got the 5 speed. Never hear the end of that one. I thought maybe I'd get a few points for selling it and buying a 4 dr. after we had kids....not enough points to offset the lack of it being an automatic though.I remember one cold winter I pushed the clutch pedal to the floor and the cable came through the firewall. It took awhile to fix that one.I don't have the Skyhawk anymore but the old Buick will rise again for this summer. Can't wait till I get it primed and painted. Almost there.......
