Guest tbrayton
I don't know very much about the Peerless cars but I really want a 1906 some day. I have some parts off one that belonged to my great great grandpa. I'm looking for one I can restore not one that is already done. I enjoy seeing my progress as a car goes together. And the searching for parts is probably the most fun. I probably enjoy putting them back together more than having them done. Anyway, if anyone knows of a 1906 Peerless for sale anywhere or any year close I am open to them too. Thanks

Dave Mellor NJ
I don't think so but if you can track down the owner you can always ask.
mercer09
bray, hope you have a spare few hundred thousand in your back pocket.....doubt that there is a unrestored one out there. Less than 5 most likely exist.
jeff_a
tbrayton,Welcome to the AACA Forums! Interesting to read that you have an interest in buying a 1906 Peerless...and have a supply of parts for one.I personally know of only one 1906 Peerless. I think it was on the cover of the Jan.-Feb., 1992 HCCA Gazette. There may be others, as maxwell07 points out, but it would be very hard to find them. The 1909 Peerless (4-cylinder, Mod. 19 King of the Belgians) you asked about was one of three Peerlesses that sold at the 2008 RM Monterey Auction, this one went for $170,500. Both years represent Peerless at its finest hour and the "ought nine" you mentioned is proof that there are unrestored Peerless cars of this vintage out there. ----Jeff Edited February 28, 2012 by jeff_a (see edit history)
jeff_a
tbrayton,Please feel free to use the Peerless Forum on the AACA Forums, since you are knowledgeable about the 1906s and your great-grandfather had one. The first car in the town I live in was a 1904 Peerless, but it cost $4,000, so was far beyond the reach of most people at that time. Your great-grandfather must have been a prominent person, if he bought it new.----Jeff
