Guest
My dad and I recently spotted a '56 Bel-Air 4 door sitting in the weeds.
We haven't found out about who owns it and such, but I want to know if it's worth messing with.
Unfortunately, I don't have a pic, but I'll describe it as best a non-classic car guy can.
Umm, let's see... The body is in really good shape, it has a little surface rust where there isn't any paint, but 90% of the car is covered with about 400 coats of paint. The front and rear glass is perfect, no cracks, no chips (no fish either); the little corner panes are intact, but the door glass is broken.
ALL the chrome trim is intact, and it's still nice and shiny, although one peice has a dent in it, and the headlights, marker lights and tail lights are all there.
The interior looks to be all there, but, with the exception of the dash stuff and the steering wheel, it's not all that hot.
The hood was open, so we could peer under it a bit. I could make out a valve cover, so that means the heads are there, and the intake is still on it, although the carb isn't (maybe sitting under there somewhere... I hope); so maybe there's most of a 265 under the hood.
As far as the rest of the car, I didn't inspect it that much (I will tomorrow), so I don't know if the frame, axles, brakes (not that one would want them), gas tank, etc. are any good, but, judging by the rest of the car, it's probably good resto material.
Well, I know that's not much to go by, but what am I looking at here as far as money goes?
(I posted this a minute ago, but it disappeared )
