I heard somewhere a Ford Explorer 8.8 rearend with disc brakes is a bolt in for these old mopars. Is this correct? Thanks Ray

Well your question made me curious because I am working on a 48 new yorker right now and you can wrap up several hundred dollars in just seals for one of these old rear ends. Looks like you can get a explorer axle for around $150.00 and the mountaineer is also a limited slip.

I am not sure what the spring perch to perch measurement is on the Dodge, but on this new yorker it is 47" and the explorer is 40", also the explorer axles have an offset to the passenger side of about 2". Anyway these will not work for the new yorker and I suspect the same on the dodge:(. But it would be sweet if they did having disc brakes and a limited slip :)
