Chris,
Here is the entry from the Beaulieu Encyclopedia of the Automobile:
LESCINA (1916)
Lescina Automobile Co, Newark, NJ
The Lescina was a superb example of grandiose promotion followed by miniscule result. Introduced in January 1916 at New York City's Grand Central Palace, several of the cars were exhibited with the announcement that the Lescina would comprise three different chassis at varying prices and no less than 10 body styles. The company had a plant at Newark, with other assembling facilities scheduled for completion in Chicago. The basic plan outlined for Lescina production called for all of its cars to be fitted with standard proven components from specialists in various components or, in automotive parlence, 'assembled cars'. Projected series included 2 4-cylinder lines with 106 inch (2690 mm) and 112 inch (2842mm) wheelbases and a 6 which would have a wheelbase of 125 inches (3172mm), and a host of body styles including touring cars, standard and cloverleaf roadsters, and a cabriolet as well as a panel delivery truck, the latter of which probably never reached the prototype stage. Prices ranged from $555 to $1288. The Lescina failed in less than a year with minimal production at best.
