Guest CanadianVictory6
I'm sure I can't be the only one having this problem. With the sticky gas nowadays, that turns to syrup once it has sat awhile, I find that the float in my carburator is prone to sticking to the bottom of the carburator. One the car has sat for awhile, the float will not come up and the car floods out. Is there any way to rememedy this?I've also heard that these old cars were meant to run on leaded gasoline, which wasn't very clean burning, but did keep everything nice and lubricated. Anyways, I've heard that adding a few drops of ATF to each tank of gas will achieve the same effect. Has anyone else heard this?
Paul Bohlig
Many of us have had the gum varnished gas crud. I finally reduced mine by shutting off the fuel but let the engine run until it stalls from no fuel. On the vacuum tank shut the valve. If you are electric fuel pump put a switch in line. I put a toogle on-off on the passenger side on the bottom lip of the dash board. You would barely now if was there it you were not looking.Paul
