DNC
What was the figure(s) the Dorris Automobile Company used as it's radiator ornament? Thank you.
oldcarfudd
If no one answers your question, contact George Dorris in St. Louis. He's the something-something-grandson of the guy who made them. He has several St. Louises and Dorrises and he'll know.Gil Fitzhugh, Morristown, NJ

X-Frame
Here is another one that may help. Seems like some models had wings under the meter. Think this was a 1924 Touring car: Edited February 2, 2012 by X-Frame (see edit history)

Guest tmcmahon
I am a photographer and at a car show in St Louis, Missouri when I saw the Dorris cars. The motor meter with the wings on it belongs to one of the Dorris family members.
Guest duncan.dorris
The diamond logo was the most common but we also used a script that read 'Dorris' and 'Built to Last' below it. Feel free to reach out to me for anything Dorris or St. Louis Motors related.
Guest gpd4
That car used to have a 'Gibson Girl' on top of the MotoMeter like this one http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/14029/lot/331/, but nickel plated - not painted. We took her off several years ago. The wings were not a factory item, either, but I have no idea when they were added - and I think they look pretty good on the car as well! Happy belated birthday, Dunc!
