It appears the glove box and 2 cubbyhole lathes are the same but the passthrough latch is a different design. Is this correct? Thanks in advance!

The glove box is very slightly different. The metal "U" shaped piece that latches the door shut is slightly different on the glove box.

The glove box latch will work on the rear cubbies, but if you install a latch from the cubbies on the glove box, it will not close smoothly.

I bought 2 blue latches from Ebay not knowing that you need the keys to get the tumbler out. Would anyone be willing to trade 2 latches in exchange for 1 latch minus the tumbler?

if you are careful you can drill the old lock out.
