Guest danca
What color should the carb on a 32 57S be? I've thought of just doing a good cleaning with glass beads and then clearing it. But I'm also wondering if it should maybe be grey or some other carb type color. Any suggestions as to a paint that gas won't hurt, should the gaskets weep a bit? Guest danca
Thanks guys. That's what I suspected. The black should probably be some kind of catalyzed urethane for the best resistance to fuel. Still looking for a good clear for the bare metal parts. Eastwood has one called Diamond clear that is supposed to be pretty fuel resistant. I may have to try it. smithbrother
Yep, TEST/TRY it is always best, can save headaches down the road. I wish you well,Dale in Indy
Bob Engle
I've had good luck with Eastwood clear spray in both gloss and satin. I prefer the satin as it makes the diecast and brass look natural. I used Eastwood's Chassis gloss black in the cast iron parts, it is really tough paint. The Gloss is per Mac Blair's list of engine paint colors for 1932 Buicks.Bob
