These are (or were) available new from Bob's Automobilia. Not sure on cost. I need to buy a set. I have some used ones that need cleaning you could have but would want to make sure I can get a set from Bob's first.

How many do you want? I have several 1936 US caps but no 1936 McLaughlin Buick caps.

Where are you?

Send me a private message so I can get your email.

Very strange. 2 people have either said they have them and will sell them or give them to you. I recommended you get new ones from Bob's and you continue to post that you need them.

There is a fellow in Minnesota who has a 36 parts stockpile, BCA member, has a current ad in Hemmings and I am sure he has some 36 hubcaps.

What do you want us to do? How much will you pay? Where have you looked?

I'll tell you what, PM your address and I'll send you all the caps I have, I think I have 3-4, FREE and I'll cover postage/shipping.

Interesting interpretation of these messages. Not sure why you would suggest that I buy four and still ask for more...

I have not gotten a reply/offer from anyone who says they have them. And of course I know Bob's has new repros...I was looking for good used ones that would cost less than $300.00 for a set.

Thanks for your concern.

There are 2 replies above from 2 different people offering hubcaps if you contact them. When you re-post and say anybody? anybody? but don't reference the 2 posters that offered caps right here, then it's odd.

mclbuick2002 said "how many do you want, I have several..."

I will spend the $300 (if that is what it costs) for Bob's so you can have mine free. I just need your address and I'll even pay for the shipping.

These would be off my 36 model 81 which had low miles. They are driver quality and maybe better if cleaned up. You can have, 2, 3 or 4

"you could have but would want to make sure I can get a set from Bob's first."

Thought that meant the next move was up to you...?

Sent PM two weeks ago...no response yet.

Well that's too bad that the other guy didn't respond. As for me, never received a PM. I will get these cleaned up this weekend and should have a box around. Thanks for the address.

Hey Jake,

If you are giving away the remainder of that 36 Buick, I will consider taking it off your hands assuming you will deliver it to my front door with title in hand.

Thanks,

Michael,

No. Still very interested in my 36. Love it. Just bought a nice used grille for $350! And I'll go ahead and get Bob's repro set of hubcaps. I'll bet 2-3 of mine aren't bad. I'll post photos once I get them cleaned up.

I think there is too much emphasis on $ in the hobby so if these caps can go somewhere and help a fellow Buick owner out, that's all that matters.

You got me thinking...I checked my sent messages. Nothing there for the passed three weeks, not even the PM I sent you yesterday. No note about it being too full...what could cause this??

I occasionally have issues with PM sending/receiving too. I send a PM, then never hear anything and wonder if I did it right. Who knows?

That is one reason I leave a lot of comments in the actual POST. If someone helps me out and says sent PM or such, I still go on the post and thank them so they know I was interested/or got the message.

Nice resolution guys, glad everything is sorted and some usable parts are heading to where they continue to be used!

Just on the PM business - seems to be something not right with the system on this site. In the past I have sent PMs and they have not been received by the recipient and vice/versa.

JAKE - How do you manage to pick up a 1936 grill for $350? Over the last 2 or 3 years I have been watching ebay and the nice ones are way out of my price range especially when you add packing and shipping to Australia. So I take it these can still be had for a reasonable price locally in the US at swap meets and the like?

Frank

I rec'd your pm on Jan29th.When I replied I rec'd an email back that " message was undeliverable."

I have 6 hubcaps for US Buicks that I paid $10 each at swap meets before I realized they will not fit my 36 McLaughlin Buicks.

You can have as many as you want for $10 each plus delivery. They are dull with some slight scratches.I just had 4 McL caps rechromed for $600 as Bob's caps won't fit my car.If you want show quality you would be better off with Bob's ss caps @ $72.50.

I used the JAXED tool where I plugged in "36 Buick" and located a nice widow in Oregon that was selling off her deceased husbands 36 Buick spare parts. I paid a total of $350 shipped so the grille was $290 or so. It needs replate for show but is a perfect original with nice mounting threads.

Bell's Buick Parts has a nice core on ebay now for $975 or so.

Here is a photo of mine. I was so happy that it arrived in good condition.

airbrushguy,

Here are your hubcaps. 3 of the 4 are pretty nice. Please allow me to clean them up a little. Had to do "family time" on Saturday and work my Part Time job today (Sunday) but these will be sent out on Wednesday.

Please, you're too generous. Send them as-is, I'll clean them. However it might be better to just send the top two, since the bottom seem to be beyond my ability to restore. I'l get some extras from mclbuick2002 and hope I have a presentable set in the end.

Please let me pay shipping, thanks for your generosity.

I have had trouble opening PM's, and just cannot seem to send one!!

So I just add my email address, and phone # in the threads...it does work, so far, every time!!

Unbelievable, BJM, you not only offered those caps free, but were willing to clean them up and ship free also!!

I agree that $$ are too important in the hobby, but you are a rare gem!!

My hat's off to you!!

Oh dear, I never wear hats...OK, I salute you!! LOL

Cheers, Mike
