Dave Mellor NJ
31 Model A roadster sells for almost 50K at Barret Jackson 1931 FORD MODEL A Lot 411 | Barrett-Jackson Auction Company
trimacar
This defies logic, of course, as do many of the prices at the BJ auction. A friend just bought a beautifully restored 1929 A roadster in the mid 20K range, and yes I know the 30-31's are a little more desirable, but there are lots of A roadsters for sale.25K will buy nicely restored A roadsters all day long, and you can even wait a little bit and find the color combination you want.........It's a fun watch, if you get past the way it's presented and announced, but reality? methinks not........... 1937hd45
There is a three page discussion on the car over on The Ford Barn website. It sold at an AUCTIONwere two people thought it was worth that kind of money. Why does a Orange Mustang sell for 60,000 and a Silver on goes for $200,000, same reason. All three auctions have no effect on my life.
Guest 1929model75
There was a 30 deluxe roadster advertised on this site a few months back that won every national award in this club as well MARC the seller was at 32k this car at bj is far from a correct restoration. It really makes me wonder how uneducated buyers are or if BJ is just smoke and mirrors.
1937hd45
The Bonnie & Clyde DeSoto went fo more than it was worth IMO, was this Roadster in the movie as well? I ask because the color sceme is uncommon for a Roadster and one like it was in the movie. Maybe there is more to the story and the bidders knew something we don't. poci1957
What about the 1929 Model A with the skis and tracks for $60k? Is there something there that I don't know about? I was shocked by the roadster too but at least one could take it for a drive on a nice day.
1937hd45
I missed the SnowBird, the early snowmobiles have a a very strong following with meets all around the country. A friend always kicks himself over not buying a running Model T based one at Hershey for $600.00 Many many, years ago.
Guest 1929model75
Bronson Yellow was available on the 30 deluxe not 31 that was a 31 cabrolet color scheme also notice the inside of the gas tank is improperly painted.
Dave Mellor NJ
How about the modern plugs and the heater manifold/firewall door? Not to mention the scraped off paint on the serial #. There's a restored one in the "Auto Roundup" for $19,500right now and it looks just as good.
