Phil Knapp
Take a look at the April, 2012 issue of Rod & Custom. There's a highly modified, but pretty original looking 1937 Zephyr coupe with a souped-up V12 in the center fold. Bleach
April'12 issue already available? The only Lead Zephyr I could find without seeing the mag was a Boyd Coddington creation that had been featured elsewhere earlier some time ago.
Phil Knapp
My April 2012 subscription issue of Rod & Custom arrived yesterday (1/19). They called it "Leadsled Zephyr" on the cover, but "Lead Zephyr" in the article. They'll probably hear from Boyd Coddington about that.I would scan the photo, but I would probably get in trouble if I did that.It looks pretty original but has no bumpers, a '41 Zephyr steering wheel with a column shift plus a lot more modifications. Keith L.
Yeah, Boyd's been silent for awhile. However, the custom work must go on. Without his talent and presence, the boys at the shop just can't seem to get a handle on the classic Coddington "look".
C. Douglas Johnson Jr.
this isn't the ''look''?

Keith L.
Yes, there are always collector car ads that say “invested $80,000 (or whatever number, the higher the better) now yours for only $20,000. They NEVER say “Squandered”, Wasted”, “Lost”, “Down the drain” or “Irretrievable”. Yet somehow they have “Invested” in that ‘50 Bathtub Nash, (or whatever). When I was a younger man I also used the term “Investing” when buying old cars. I have since learned. My golden years are defiantly financially secure with that kind of investing.
Guest Rick Evans
Looks like "scrape" recently crapped out at auction too. It sold for $66,000. The car had previously sold at the RM Auction at the Pebble Beach, CA Concours weekend for $275,000.[h=3]1939 Lincoln - Zephyr - "Scrape" Lot No. 527[/h]
