Guest youngfalcon
I joined late last year and sent membership dues by snail mail. I have not received a renewal notice for 2012 as others in my local club have. How do I renew online. Also, I assume I will need my membership number and I do not have a record of that either. Suggestions? Thanks for any replies! Edited January 6, 2012 by youngfalcon (see edit history)

MCHinson
Welcome to AACA and the AACA Discussion Forum. When did you join? You may already be a member for the current year. From the Bylaws:2.6.4. Applicants applying after September 30th shall be enrolled for Membership inthe following year.I suggest you call the National Headquarters staff and they can confirm if your membership is already current for 2012.The number can be found at this link:Contact Us
Guest
My printer has gone on the blink so I couldn't print out a application for renewal. I mailed a check to the address on our site without any attached explanation other than AACA renewal on the check. You would think someone would acknowledge with a return receipt or a thank you would be nice. It would be helpful if the magazine had a application/applications stapled to the inside or a printed page like ALL other magazines do so you could tear one off for yourself or for someone you know.D. Guest Jim_Edwards
It's a bit clumsy in a way, but here's all one has to do to renew on line. Bring up the AACA.org home page. then look at the top center where you will see the words "Become a member" in red. Click on that. When the next page comes up in the second paragraph you will see in light green the words "join or renew online." Click on those words. You will then have have three options. If you only want to renew on an annual basis click on "Annual Membership." Then all you have to do is fill out the form including your current membership number to have your membership renewed. As I said, clumsy. In fact unnecessarily clumsy in my opinion. All that is needed is a link to renewal in which one can input their membership number which should fill in all the other data automatically and give one an opportunity to make any necessary changes in their status. MCHinson
In my experience, I have renewed online, mailed a check into National, and had my Chapter Treasurer send in my National Dues. In all those ways, I have never had a problem. You can contact National staff by phone or email and you will reach a friendly voice that will happily assist you.helfen, I am about 100% sure the mailing sheet that came with the magazine had a renewal form on it that you could fill out and send in. (You know... the form that everybody pulls out and discards immediately when they tear the wrapper open to read the magazine...)Jim,One reason to have you type in the information is that most people tend to accept the pre-populated information in any online form, even when they should change it, resulting in old addresses causing problems. Guest Jim_Edwards
Jim,One reason to have you type in the information is that most people tend to accept the pre-populated information in any online form, even when they should change it, resulting in old addresses causing problems.I'm not much on spoon feeding people and aside from that, I suspect members who have moved would have already notified the club of the change about the time they realize they didn't receive their magazine. I personally see no need to make online renewals a mess for everyone because of the few who cannot pay attention to instructions, which might just include the advice to "please check your information for current address accuracy before clicking on the pay button"Many maintain repetitively used accounts with online merchants and I can assure you none of those merchants require pertinent information be re-entered with every order. john2dameron
If you pay online, you pay with your credit card. If you call headquarters, you pay with your credit card. I like to phone mine in and that way you know it was done correctly before you hang up. As a bonus, unlike telemarketers that call you, you get to speak to someone who speaks English without a strange accent.
