1950 olds windshield compatibility

Recommended Posts

hi, you can separate the olds-pontiac- chevy windshield into three groups of interchangeability, 1st group is two and four door sedans, 2nd group is hardtop and convertibles, last group is stationwagons, i think that sedan deliveries would be in the first group. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor.

Easiest way to deal with the issue is to get in touch with an auto glass company that caters to vintage autos. One such company is at Bob's Classic Auto Glass : Vendio Stores There are others.

I personally would suggest that while your replacing one piece of glass you might want to consider replacing all if for no other reason than to get rid of the bubbles that inevitably begins showing up around the edges of laminated safety glass over forty years old. You can probably replace all the glass on your car for less than $500, not including gaskets.

2 piece windshield is part # W111 right side and W112 left side. These fit the following

49-52 Chevrolet Fleetline

49-50 Olds 76 and 88 Club Sedan and Club Coupe

49-51 Pontiac Streamliner Sedans

Back in the day a common mod to Chevys and Pontiacs was to replace the 2 piece windshield with an Olds 1 piece. The part # is W188, 49-50 Olds 76 and 88 Club Sedan and Club Coupe.. You need the gasket for the 1 piece and the trim clips that cover the ends of the stainless trim around the windshield. Remove the glass and hacksaw out the center divider bar. Install the one piece gasket, glass and trim.
