weight of V-12 engine

I recall reading many years ago that the flathead V8 Lincoln engine which came next after the V12 weighs over 900 lbs which makes a BBC a feather weight in comparison. I would guess that the V12 would be much lighter than that. There have been some big, heavy lumps put into American cars over the years, the Buick 90 engine of 1931-35 weighs over 1100lbs. Many of the older engines are extra heavy because the flywheel housing is included with the engine.
