Windshields???????

Daniel,

Pilkington has been making the windshields from [presumably] the same molds for years now. I cannot imagine something changed unless they had to create new molds and something was not done correctly. Are you asking because you have a new one that doesn't fit correctly? I would hope not, as that would be a serious problem.

Padgett nailed it. The VIN cutout in the black portion of the edge screening is larger on the 90/91 windshields (and all subsequent new windshield glass production) to accommodate the addition of a barcode in addition to the embossed (or etched in 90/91) VIN on the tag. Other than that, all four years of windshield are identical. Of course, the factory glass was marked "LOF", any new ones you get now will be marked "Pilkington" as they bought out LOF some years ago.

So, to get back to the original point, any Reatta windshield will fit any of the 4 years. Note that using an early (88/89) on a later (90/91) model will partially obscure the VIN plate.
